DOWNLOAD JASON'S AIR MEDAL
The AIR MEDAL was originally established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt via Executive Order 9158 on May 11, 1942, to recognize meritorious service in aerial flight. It was created as a World War II-era morale-booster for aircrews, serving as an aerial equivalent to the Bronze Star.. In the military, service members do not receive bonuses or pay raises for above and beyond performance; they are awarded medals of recognition, and wear them with pride. Ribbons and medals are worn on the left side of the chest and serve as a visual "resume" of what that service member has done and accomplished.
